Johnny "Slin-K" Brownlee is from Pompano Beach, Florida. Affectionately called Slin-K “The Renaissance Man” by professional colleagues, because he does so many things well, and has a diverse array of knowledge and experiences.He’s a graduate of Florida Atlantic University; with degrees in Political Science and Urban & Regional Planning. He is the Former Director of FAU’s former agency Black Student Union & Multicultural Programming. While in college he helped create and develop programs and events, and continually fought for student rights and multicultural rights.
He is a ghostwriter, contributor, and blogger in three different sectors, for a number of internet sites and magazines, (hip-hop, social issues, and relationship articles). He's the Male Perspective writer for the website and magazine Everything Girls Love and Music Journalist and Reviewer for Hear My Voice Entertainment in association with Mediabase.
He’s a nationally touring speaker and workshop presenter, with 16 yrs of experience. The Author of Getting In Our Own Way: The Degradation of Student Organizations. He often speaks on student involvement, community involvement, leadership, civic engagement and Black History.
Last but not least, he’s the co-founder of the Men Molding Men and Always Be A Lady mentoring networks for teens, a member of the Broward Urban League Young Professional Network and a co-founder and emeritus member of the MLK Youth Celebration Committee for the City of Fort Lauderdale.
Known for his controversial views, different perspective and in your face style, he captivates audiences and arrests their attention, by boldly going where most won’t.
